New feature, available to some beta testers, allows users to easily invite others via a calling link

WhatsApp is rolling out a new call menu feature for individual and group chats as the popular communication app continues to enhance calling experience for its users.

The new update, downloadable through Google Play Store, is only available to some beta testers.

The update brings up a call menu to the top par of the chat boxes. This replaces the previous two buttons at the top of the conversation box used to initiate voice and video calls with one button.

In single person chats, this button displays a voice call icon but this does not mean that the users can not make video calls anymore as when users tap on the call button, a new menu open ups and allows the user to choose between a voice or video call.

The menu also gives a shortcut to quickly create and share a call link. This move from WhatsApp will make it easier for people to invite others to join a call.

The new update also allows the user to select which group members to call rather than calling the entire list of participants.
